Light42Danko is led by an award-winning filmmaker Svetlana Sigalaeva, whose creative voice was forged under censorship and sharpened through exile. Our work blends raw realism with mythic allegory, merging personal narratives with socio-political critique.

From proof-of-concept shorts to feature-length films, our projects travel widely on the international festival circuit and speak to audiences seeking cinema that is fearless, tender, and uncompromising.

Light Danko is a visionary film project exploring repression, survival, and emotional resistance through symbolic storytelling and deeply human characters.

“The character of Light Danko was born as a mirror of my inner child — my fears, my defiance, my faith. She fails to die because something in her refuses erasure. That refusal becomes the spark of a personal and collective revolution.”

Its proof-of-concept short, Dankova, won the Stockholm Film & Television Festival and was selected for Raindance 2025, establishing the project as a powerful voice in contemporary independent cinema.
