Description

Not Pure is a film about a love triangle — a meta-narrative woven into the life of an ordinary teenage girl.

Logine

Sixteen-year-old Love Crucified – her name echoing both love and the cross – runs away from home and calls the married man she is in love with, asking him to join her at her family’s country house. When he refuses, she phones her ex-boyfriend in a moment of despair. In the end, the entire “Holy Trinity” gathers at the dacha.

Philosophical Question / Theme
What if all of us are crucified between the past and the future – just as Jesus once was?

Characters & Concept
What if the teenage girl Love Crucified – her name echoing both love and the cross – embodies the image of Christ in a story where Magdalen is a married, parasitic man, and Judas is Crucified’s former lover?

Story Background / Inspiration
This story is a reinterpretation of the events surrounding Jesus and Pontius Pilate.

Style / Approach
This is an experimental film – a cinematic parable.
